Local cloud specialist One Channel is upbeat about the prospects of cloud computing in Africa, with cloud platforms enabling new, complex business models and orchestrating more globally-based integration networks.
Cloud computing spending is growing at nearly five times the rate of IT spending and is expected to grow even more in the future. IDC predicts that by 2018, at least half of IT spending will be cloud-based and will reach close to 70% of all software, services and technology spending by 2020.
One Channel CEO Bernard Ford says Acumatica is perfectly positioned to capture the cloud ERP market. “Not only was Acumatica Cloud ERP rated as ‘Best Inventory Management Software of 2017’ by PC Magazine, but it was also identified as a ‘Visionary’ in Gartner’s June 2017 Magic Quadrant for Cloud Core Financial Management Suites for Midsize, Large and Global Enterprises.”
PC Magazine tested five of the most popular inventory management software packages and Acumatica won. It says with its easy-to-follow navigation, robust reporting, and unusual pricing model, Acumatica is a solid choice for enterprise-scale accounting, ERP and inventory management.
Acumatica received PC Magazine Editors’ Choice in both the ‘Enterprise Accounting’ and ‘Inventory Management’ categories. According to the review, the product “excels in both these areas, and if you’re in the market for an ERP system with excellent financial accounting capabilities and you’re skewed towards the manufacturing and distribution industries, Acumatica remains a good choice there, too, and still earns its ‘Excellent’ rating.”
Gartner says Acumatica is known for its innovation leadership and exceptional technology, as well as for providing superior integration capabilities. In the report it states that the company instils confidence among customers by providing secure, tested, validated integrations that have been successfully adopted by a multitude of customers in a diversity of industries.

According to PC Magazine, Acumatica Cloud ERP’s Inventory Management module provides all the essential functions of inventory management software, the purpose of which is to track warehouse items through acquisition, sales, or use processes; locate them across one or many warehouses, and price and inventory so one knows the value of items in inventory for accounting purposes.
It states that an exceptional inventory management system will also track sales, purchase orders (POs), deliveries, and be tied to point-of-sale (POS) software. Finally, barcoding, item location, and bin identification are also functions one should look for in an inventory management system.
The PC Magazine review says Acumatica has easy navigation and the browser-based application makes it easy to use on mobile devices and that non-user-based pricing easily accommodates growing companies. Besides its excellent reporting, Acumatica runs on various databases, there are a wide selection of costing methods and it offers cloud or on-premises deployment.
Ford points to the review and says the bottom line is, Acumatica has an easy-to-follow navigation, robust reporting, and unusual pricing model. “Acumatica is a solid choice for enterprise-scale accounting, ERP, and inventory management.”
