DocFusion® 365 integrates with Power BI for enhanced reporting

Users of DocFusion® 365 cloud-based document composition and automation engine can now benefit from added value with the integration of Power BI.

Power BI is a business analytics service provided by Microsoft. It provides interactive visualisations with self-service business intelligence capabilities. This, when teamed with DocFusion® 365, a dynamic cloud-based document composition and automation engine, allows you to effectively measure performance and identify key areas for improvement.

“With Power BI embedded in DocFusion® 365, we have managed to give users an insightful and meaningful reporting experience where we report on statistics that span from the most active templates and sites, to the most and least active users on the product,” says Ernest Kleynhans, MD of local specialist software and IT services provider Assimilated Information Systems (Pty) Ltd. (AIS).

“While Power BI offers many options for integration, we decided to run with the embedded direct query approach. This allows the reports to be embedded into our solution, and enables the use of live data when compiling the dashboards,” adds Kleynhans.

The active community and Accelerator program also helped overcome any hurdles that were faced while integrating without any hassle.

Power BI is an embedded single solution and the main benefit gained from the solution is the analytics that it can provide.

While visualisation is a key component, the most important aspect is the predictive analytics it provides. Predictive analytics are an incredibly useful resource in helping users delve into data, decipher and extract useful data and help steer digital strategies.

The DocFusion® 365 template designer includes features such as optional and repeatable content creation, drag-and-drop fields from various data sources, external references, electronic signatures, dynamic graph and barcode creation and more. It also allows for rule-driven content creation through the use of smart parts, expressions, queries, aggregates, lookups and even scripts if required.

Power BI enabled DocFusion® 365 is available today on the Microsoft Office Store and is positioned to improve, automate and streamline document composition.
