Nexans, the worldwide leader in cables and cabling systems, announced that it plans to place the spotlight on its data centre innovations and Fibre to the Office (FTTO) solutions at GITEX Technology Week 2017, which will be held from 8-12 October at the Dubai World Trade Center. In addition to showcasing its world-class LAN cabling solutions, experts from the company will hold product demonstrations for customers and partners at the region’s leading technology event.
“GITEX Technology Week is a perfect platform for Nexans to showcase our extensive portfolio of LAN cabling solutions, demonstrate the features and benefits of our world-class innovations and meet our customers and partners from around the region under one roof. By participating in GITEX, we would like to show our commitment to our customers and partners in terms of our leadership in offering latest and best technologies and our long-term plan to firmly support them in the region,” said Tarek Helmy, Regional Director Gulf and Middle East, South and East Africa at Nexans Cabling Solutions.
“Yesterday’s networks are under pressure to cope with the increasing bandwidth demands of today from the Internet of Things (IoT), BYOD, cloud, video etc. Convergence of networking technologies, new expectations including availability, reliability, scale-out and always-on, are driving data centres to be redesigned and rearchitected. At GITEX, Nexans will demonstrate how our data centre innovations, ‘Smart Choices for Digital Infrastructure’, will help managers support flexible, cost-effective bandwidth architectures, optimised space usage and faster modular deployment,” Helmy added.
‘Smart Choices for Digital Infrastructure’ includes different data centre infrastructure technologies that are flexible and scalable to adapt to future requirements and support several consecutive generations of active equipment.
The company will also promote its LANactive solution, which is based on FTTO-switch, in both office and harsh environments. “FTTO is an advanced technology that proved to have lower OPEX and CAPEX compared to standard LAN infrastructure networks. LANactive is an ideal solution to serve large areas like hospitals, airports, universities, and any facility requires lot of floor distribution racks or telecom rooms, in addition to refurbishments of old buildings in which putting standard LAN cabling is not an option due to space constraints and old infrastructure,” Helmy explained.
Apart from the above solutions, Nexans will also showcase its broad portfolio of best-in-class LAN cabling solutions for data centres including Nexans LANmark-7A (Cat7A) and LANmark-8 (Cat8), both of which are designed for a scalable and a cost-effective high-speed data centre applications and help customers scale up to 25G and 40G Ethernet over copper cabling. Additionally, the LANmark ENSPACE solutions for data centres, which include patch panels, micro-bundle cables in OM5 and low-loss connectors that can help data centres meet growing data demands.
Nexans will be exhibiting at Stand B4-10, Hall 4 at GITEX Technology Week 2017. Senior global executives and experts will be at the stand to meet with visitors and share their knowledge, expertise and global success stories with them. The company also plans to use GITEX as a platform to strengthen its Middle East network by meeting existing and prospective customers and partners.
