Software from 6d Technologies overcomes connectivity problems in rural Africa

Field agents working for telcos are being helped to overcome problems with poor connectivity in rural parts of Africa.

The deployment of Engrafi from 6d Technologies across Chad, Senegal, Ghana, Tanzania and Angola has enabled a quick and convenient subscriber registration process despite connectivity problems.

Engrafi allows subscribers to register themselves with quick digitalised forms, ensuring authentic verification of the user and reducing the chances of identity fraud and compliance abuse.

Registration of subscribers becomes difficult in rural areas of developing countries where there is no proper internet connectivity for field agents to use.

So to mitigate this, 6d’s Engrafi platform enables off-line collection of user information in case of low or no internet connectivity, meaning operators can process transactions when the connection is restored.

Kenil Paul, Vice President at 6d Technologies, said: “There is no doubt that constant reforms from regulatory bodies are drafted to ensure safety and security, operators face various challenges in collecting information from the existing, as well as new, subscribers.

“Intuitive interfaces and fraud handling, ensuring data authenticity and tight timelines, are other challenges faced by the operators.

“Our product ‘Engrafi’, a subscriber registration solution, addresses all these challenges and brings a digitalised, easy, quick and user-friendly solution , which enhances customer experience.”
