  • 4GEE Home Router is ideal for customers in rural areas yet to receive superfast fixed-line broadband
  • The 4GEE Home Router launches with a new 200GB plan – EE’s biggest ever data bundle

EE today launched a new 4GEE Home Router, its first own-branded Cat 7-enabled mobile Wi-Fi device, compatible with 4G+. Available immediately nationwide, the new and improved 4GEE Home Router is ideal for customers who live in areas with slow speed fixed-line access and provides a flexible and convenient alternative using the UK’s fastest 4G network.

The new 4GEE Home Router can connect up to 32 devices with real world download speeds of up to 90Mbps and is ready to go straight out of the box. The device is also portable, so can be easily turned off and on again should a customer move house.

The 4GEE Home Router allows customers to access EE’s superfast 4G network which currently extends to 83% of the UK’s landmass (equal to more than 99 percent of the UK population) and EE has an ambition to extend 4G to 95 percent geographic coverage by 2020. Meanwhile, EE’s 4G+ speeds are available in more than 150 towns and cities across the UK, and are as fast as Fibre Broadband.

According to OpenSignal*, EE has the UK’s fastest 4G, with average download speeds above 30Mbps. As a result, the 4GEE Home Router will help provide an alternative to many of the 904,000 homes** in the UK that receive broadband slower than 10Mbps.

Max Taylor, Managing Director of Marketing, EE, said: “Our new 4GEE Home Router provides customers with a great alternative to fixed-line broadband using the UK’s fastest and most reliable mobile network. It’s simple to set up and use straight out of the box, so it’s ideal for customers with slower fixed line speed or people who regularly move house and need instant Wi-Fi connectivity.”

The new 4GEE Home Router is EE’s first own-branded Cat 7 device allowing users to benefit from EE’s superfast 4G connectivity.
