Bitdefender, a leading global cybersecurity company protecting more than 500 million systems worldwide, has announced interoperability between Bitdefender GravityZone Security for Virtualized Environments (SVE) and VMware NSX-T Data Center.
With this support, Bitdefender delivers an agentless security solution for customers that works with VMware NSX-T Data Center.
As organisations embrace new technologies, data centre environments become heterogeneous and the percentage of workloads running in public clouds continues to increase. As such, software-defined networking (SDN) solutions must expand to offer a full range of networking and security services, natively, in these environments.
In response, VMware has designed VMware NSX-T Data Center to support multi-cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure and VMware Cloud on AWS), multi-hypervisor (e.g., VMware vSphere and KVM) and container (e.g. Docker and Kubernetes) environments.
“As customers build out hybrid clouds underpinned by VMware NSX, they need the broadest possible ecosystem of solutions to address their unique security requirements,” said Umesh Mahajan, Senior Vice President of R&D, Networking and Security Business Unit at VMware. “Bitdefender offers customers a proven security solution that can take advantage of the pervasive connectivity provided by VMware NSX to deliver layered security anywhere the application requires it.”
Bitdefender GravityZone SVE, a VMware Ready solution, offers VMware NSX customers the following benefits:
- Better protection against advanced threats with HyperDetect tunable Machine Learning
- Greater operational efficiency and agility via native NSX and VMware vCenter integration
- Higher infrastructure ROI due to increased consolidation ratios and faster performance
“Bitdefender is honoured to be the first provider offering VMware customers the benefits of agentless security with VMware NSX-T Data Center and the only one to protect them against advanced threats with tunable machine learning,” said Gavin Hill, Vice President, Datacenter and Network Security Products, Bitdefender.
“We value our ongoing partnership with VMware and their like-minded commitment to customer service and innovation.”
The solution will be generally available March 31, 2019.
