e-shelter, a leading data centre provider in Europe and a member of the NTT Group, has acquired a development site from BMDF Gewerbepark Berlin-Mariendorf GmbH & Co. KG.
It will enable the company to develop a data centre campus of 60,000 sqm and 90 MVA of data centre capacity, with the first phase scheduled to be ready in Q4 2020.
‘Marienpark Berlin’ is located just south of the city centre and is 14km from the existing e-shelter Berlin 1 data centre which provides 13 MW of capacity.
Customers at the Marienpark data centre campus will have access to e-shelter’s e-connect platform featuring multiple carrier and cloud providers.
The close linear distance of the sites within the Berlin city region means customers will have the option to operate infrastructure in both, Berlin 1 and the new campus in an ‘active-active-configuration’.
