Kodak Alaris adds mobile capabilities to document capture

Mobile devices continue to change the way organisations conduct business – including how we capture and share critical business documents. According to InfoTrends, 68% of IT decision makers within five scanning rich vertical markets believe document capture using devices such as smartphones will increase significantly over the next three years.

At GITEX 2015, Kodak Alaris provides a preview of its new, mobile-ready version of the Kodak Info Input Solution. The Info Input Solution is a web-based document capture application that provides an efficient way to integrate capture into existing enterprise content management (ECM) and line of business applications. Organisations that implement Info Input can be more responsive to customers, while driving down costs and enjoying the efficiencies experienced with web-based business applications.

The solution helps eliminate costs associated with thick client software by allowing IT departments to centrally manage the deployment and support of Info Input on desktops and mobile capture devices. It also eliminates per-user licenses and volume-based click charges.

The new version of Info Input will allow users to capture and index information via smartphone or tablet, when and where it is received. The information is then seamlessly integrated into existing workflows through a secure connection with the Info Input Application Server.

“The Kodak Info Input mobile app addresses a growing trend in the ECM industry toward enhanced mobile integration,” said Emma Isichei, Director of Capture Solutions for Kodak Alaris’ Information Management division. “By extending our applications to smart phones and tablets, we continue to address our customers’ document capture needs.” For example, an insurance agent can use the Info Input mobile app to eliminate delays in completing necessary claims paperwork, ensuring that customer satisfaction remains high.

The mobile app will be available for both iOS and Android devices. At GITEX 2015, attendees can see a preview of the new mobile offering at Hall 4, stand B4-3.
