eHDF enhances Tier 3 data centre with Cisco’s ACI

eHosting DataFort (eHDF), a provider of Managed Hosting and Cloud Infrastructure services, has announced that it is deploying Cisco Application-Centric Infrastructure (ACI) to enhance its Tier 3 data centre. This will offer full visibility and integrated management of both physical and virtual networked IT resources built around application needs. The enhanced data centre will enable eHDF to offer its services on a shared platform to all types of customers including managed hosting tenants as well as colocation customers.

Cisco ACI is a comprehensive SDN (Software Defined Networks) solution, making the application the focal point. Its application-based policy model offers speed through automation, reducing errors and accelerating application deployment and IT processes from weeks to minutes. The solution helps to break down silos and unify all the component parts of IT infrastructure – networking, storage, compute, network services, applications, security– thereby managing them as a single, dynamic entity without compromise.

Speaking on the initiative, Yasser Zeineldin, CEO, eHosting DataFort said, “As a leading Managed Services provider in the region, it is important for eHDF to continuously innovate and deploy the latest technologies to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. Hence, we opted to deploy Cisco ACI to build a modern and agile software-defined data centre that can accelerate the entire application deployment lifecycle in a simplified policy model. With this implementation, our customers can overall expect improved operational efficiency, greater productivity, increased scalability as well as improved security. We are confident that Cisco ACI will help us deliver an enhanced experience to our customers who will benefit from this solution.”

“We are excited to be working with eHosting DataFort as they take steps to change processes and prepare for digital transformation. Customers want a quick and seamless digital experience, and they want it now.  Cisco is committed to building the most capable, flexible and configurable networks that have the flexibility to support the needs of service providers – both today and in the future. The deal announced here today shows how Cisco ACI is helping eHosting DataFort on that journey by enabling a wide array of services to optimise their networks and deliver business-enabling applications and services,” said Rabih Dabboussi, Managing Director, Cisco UAE.

With Cisco ACI, the company aims to deliver application-centric security automation to its data centre. The solution will provide automated and pre-defined policy-based security provisioning for next-generation firewall services, enabling transparent security services insertion anywhere in the network fabric with single-pane-of-glass network management for full visibility on security policy enforcement. eHDF’s customers will be able to subscribe to new services and a generation of distributed applications in a simplified way, with similar parity for both virtualised and non-virtualised environments.
