Silver Peak named as a leader in Magic Quadrant for WAN Optimisation

Silver Peak has announced its position as a leader in Gartner’s May 2016 Magic Quadrant for WAN Optimisation. According to Gartner, leaders exhibit an ability to shape the market by introducing additional capabilities in their product offerings and by raising awareness of the importance of these features. In the report, Gartner now sees “enterprise network leaders moving their WAN strategies toward new WAN architectures” including, hybrid WAN, SD-WAN and network function virtualisation (NFV).

“We believe our being positioned furthest in completeness of vision for WAN optimisation is made possible by the strong WAN heritage Silver Peak has carried for the past decade.” said John Vincenzo, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Silver Peak. “As demonstrated by our recent customer announcement, we are quickly learning that all WAN solutions, particularly SD-WAN solutions, aren’t created equal. Performance matters and Silver Peak’s strength is improving application and network performance.”

Unlike other SD-WAN solutions that focus simply on allowing enterprises to leverage internet connectivity, Silver Peak uniquely delivers services that increase the performance, reliability and security customers expect from a private line. Additionally, Silver Peak offers an optional WAN optimisation performance pack called Unity Boost that enables customers to reduce bandwidth requirements and deliver higher levels of application performance over distance where and when they need it. With EdgeConnect as the foundation for SD-WAN, enterprises can improve the resiliency of their WAN, dynamically balance traffic across multiple paths and increase application performance over any source of connectivity.
