Transformational tech top of agenda for upcoming Arab Health

Honeywell will showcase how it is developing the Internet of Things (IoT) drive within the healthcare sector at this year’s Arab Health Exhibition & Congress, being held Jan. 30 to Feb. 2, 2017, at Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

By merging physical and digital technology, Honeywell will aim to demonstrate how connected solutions can integrate hospital infrastructure by connecting management systems, clinicians and patients in innovative ways to deliver better care. Honeywell’s “Connected Hospital”, “Connected Patient” and “Connected Clinician” initiatives streamline healthcare operations to improve the health of patients across the Middle East through reduced complexity and improved productivity.

“The provision of quality healthcare is vital for a successful and prosperous society, and we are very excited to be meeting with our partners and customers from across the Middle East at Arab Health to discuss the latest trends, technologies and solutions that we have available,” said Norm Gilsdorf, President of Honeywell Middle East, Russia and Central Asia.

“Connectivity is at the core of everything we do at Honeywell, and we are actively leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT) to combine our expertise and cutting-edge technology with ground-breaking software to facilitate smoother operations and a more personalised and improved patient experience,” Gilsdorf added.

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are expected to see considerable growth in healthcare expenditure over the coming years. This is due to a number of trends including a growing and increasingly older population, a rise in chronic lifestyle diseases, increasing medical tourism demand and a move towards improved medical technology innovation and digital transformation. According to recent studies by Gartner*, healthcare providers in the Middle East and North Africa spent US$2.78 billion on IT products and services in 2016, as the industry moves to leverage technology for improved operations and patient services.

At the show, Honeywell’s “Connected Hospital” proposition to integrate infrastructure and ensure rapid information flow and more agile operations for a smoother patient journey will be on display. Honeywell delivers productivity solutions, such as handheld computers, bar code scanners and printers that provide hospital staff with the data they need for patient identification, medicine administration, specimen collection and supply tracking.

The “Connected Patient” initiative, on the other hand, will demonstrate technologies that can improve the health of patients through effective monitoring in the hospital and beyond while reducing costs and the rate of re-admissions. The company will also highlight its “Connected Clinician” initiative, that leverages automated workflows and communications technology to help hospital staff increase their productivity and responsiveness to achieve greater patient satisfaction and enhanced hospital operations.

Honeywell will be present at the Arab Health 2017 at Stand # Z3F09, Zaabeel Halls, Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Jan. 30 – Feb. 2, 2017
