Equinix drives digital transformation in healthcare vertical

Global interconnection and data centre company Equinix is working with managed service provider BIOS ME to serve the Avivo Group, one of BIOS’s key customers.

This will enable digital transformation of enterprises in the healthcare vertical.

With the help of Equinix with an average uptime of 99.9999% globally, the BIOS and CloudHPT teams were able to successfully migrate with four hours downtime, and zero data loss.

BIOS’ hybridized cloud service, powered by CloudHPT in the Equinix data centre provides Avivo Group with a locally hosted system, with low latency and fully managed infrastructure and security service. This enables Avivo to focus on their core healthcare business.

“Healthcare is going through a dramatic transformation, harnessing new ways to see and treat patients and collaborate and share patient information to deliver more targeted preventive and effective medical care. Equinix is proud have made this transformation possible for Avivo through its global interconnection platform and with BIOS,” said Jeroen Schlosser, Managing Director, Equinix MENA.

“The UAE’s growing acceptance of the cloud helps organizations like Avivo Group develop and improve its customer service by answering the current market needs for a reliable, on-demand service with unlimited accessibility,” says Dominic Docherty, Managing Director of BIOS for the Middle East.

“Avivo Group’s vision for a cloud-centric approach towards private healthcare helped us secure a steady growth in UAE’s tech-driven market and develop a complete system integration with BIOS and CloudHPT that provides reliable on-demand healthcare services,” said Vikaas Bhatnagar, IT Head, Avivo Group.

Healthcare providers seeking to deliver superior patient healthcare value are feeling pressure from patients, insurers and governments to reduce healthcare costs by delivering services more effectively.

The demand for electronic information exchange from one healthcare professional to another is growing. The ability to access and exchange data is increasingly important for large healthcare providers, however moving data between disparate systems requires high bandwidth and a well-connected network of data centres.

Equinix, with its footprint of 150 data centres across 41 markets, provides scalable options that enable healthcare institutions to stay ahead of information storage and exchange requirements, as well as regulatory advances.
