Commvault expanding in the Middle East by opening new office in Saudi Arabia

Commvault, a global leader in enterprise backup, recovery, archive and the cloud, is to open a new office in Saudi Arabia.

The office will open in Riyadh next month with the official opening to follow in January or February 2018.

Christian Laing, Vice President Sales, EMEA, Commvault, said: “First of all it’s a commitment to the region. We have a team there and we have partners there so it’s a commitment to our customers, partners and our own people.

“There is a growth opportunity now specifically in Saudi Arabia and we are watching on a daily basis what is going on there.

N. Bob Hammer, CEO, Chairman and President of Commvault, is expected to attend the official launch.

Asked if anticipated reforms in Saudi Arabia could open up new opportunities for business, Hammer said: “Yes – in theory – but as we’ve been reading recently it’s also caused some internal turmoil over there and that’s got to settle down – that defocusses everyone for a while.

“We just want to work with our customers in these markets. This (political upheaval) hasn’t deterred us because we are expanding in Saudi Arabia with the number of Commvault employees and customers.”
