Middle East targeted for expansion by Commvault

A Commvault executive believes that the Middle East can be a major growth area.

Wael Mustafa, the new sales vice president for the Middle East, South Africa and Turkey for Commvault, says the region is full of potential with the promise of digital transformation.

“The whole plan is basically just to grow the business in this region. And to increase our coverage and our presence directly and through our partners and our distributors in this region and our alliances,” said Mustafa.

“This region is growing and with the new initiatives that are coming in the region I would say it’s even advanced on more mature countries.”

Mustafa quoted the development of smart cities in the UAE as evidence of technological progress.

“What has started in the UAE we are seeing happening in Saudi Arabia, we are seeing it happen in Qatar, we were seeing it happen in South Africa, we were seeing it happening in Turkey.

“So there are some countries in this region that…moved ahead when it comes to moving from just a consumption-based approach to more innovating long-term strategies, from a technology perspective to support their citizens and support their residents in different ways.”
