Red Hat receives overall ‘positive’ rating in Gartner’s 2018 vendor rating

Red Hat Inc., a leading provider of open source solutions, has announced Gartner Inc., a leading provider of research and analysis on the global information technology industry, has given the company an overall ‘positive’ rating in its 2018 Vendor Rating Report.

From Red Hat’s perspective, the overall ‘positive’ rating reflects on the strength of the company’s open hybrid cloud portfolio, container-based technologies and datacentre automation, as well as its ability to meet customers’ needs as they modernise IT systems with flexible and agile open source solutions.

Gartner vendor ratings assess many different aspects of a technology provider, such as its products, support, pricing, technology, strategy and financials. These ratings are periodically revised to reflect changes in assessment when a significant internal or external event directly affects the provider.

Craig Muzilla, senior vice president, Application Platform Businesses and Portfolio Programs, Red Hat, said:Open source has moved beyond an alternative to proprietary software to the driving force behind the innovations that are changing how the enterprise does business.

“We believe that Gartner giving us an overall ‘positive’ rating again demonstrates the growing preference for open source solutions in the enterprise and the leadership position we’ve achieved in technology leading business transformation like cloud computing, containers, big data and mobile.”

This is the fourth consecutive time Red Hat has received a ‘positive’ rating from Gartner.
