Kodak Alaris and RSTN Consulting collaborate to enable digital transformation

Kodak Alaris Information Management, has announced that it is collaborating with RSTN Consulting, a solution provider and systems integrator for document imaging, enterprise content management, workflow and business process management.

The two companies now partner to jointly assist organisations in the Middle East with one of the first and most important stages in their digital transformation journey – the scanning and digitisation of documents and the implementation of Enterprise Content Management (ECM)/Business Process Management (BPM) solutions.

Naji Kazak, general manager, Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Russia at Kodak Alaris Information Management, said: “RSTN Consulting is a former client of our company, having purchased Kodak Alaris scanners for the purpose of carrying out backlog scanning projects.

“However, we realised that a partnership would be mutually beneficial with the growing regional interest in outsourced ECM and BPM solutions. The vast growth in scanning projects, especially in UAE and Saudi Arabia, has been driven by e-government initiatives, banks digitising paperwork to meet regulation, security and compliance demands, insurance firms seeking to speed up claims processing and hospitals scanning medical records to boost operational efficiency and enhance patient care.”

Kodak Alaris Information Management and RSTN Consulting leverage each other’s strengths to capture customer requirements and implement turnkey solutions involving backlog scanning, storing and uploading the digital information into ECM platforms, designing workflows and applying business analytics and intelligence to the data. Once documents are digitised using Kodak Alaris scanners, images are then exported directly into clients’ Electronic Document and Records Management (EDRM) systems or transferred to intermediate storage platforms for customers to then download themselves.

RSTN Consulting has standardizing the scanning equipment used in its bureau – all scanners are now from Kodak Alaris. The company utilises a combination of i4000 series and i5000 series production scanners, designed to capture large volumes of documents.

Depending on the nature of the project, RSTN Consulting also recommends the use of Alaris Info Input Solution – a web-based and mobile capture application that enables faster capture and access to information at the office or remotely. The BPO provider benefits from the Alaris IN2 Ecosystem – an integrated approach to information capture that combines scanners, software, services and partnerships for a seamless solution.

Mazen Maamary, MEA Account Manager at RSTN Consulting, said: “Kodak Alaris is the gold standard when it comes to scanning. Our association with the brand goes back almost 10 years and the company has helped us deliver several successful projects. In our experience, Kodak Alaris scanners work flawlessly in all kinds of harsh conditions.

“We’ve had projects in remote industrial areas with the scanners operating almost constantly with zero downtime in challenging hot and sandy conditions, allowing us to deliver on our SLAs. Local assistance from the OEM is really important so we can ‘hot swap’ machines if required, get spare parts quickly and benefit from scheduled and reactive maintenance.

“Our staff also receive training from Kodak Alaris so they are better able to look after machines day to day without unnecessary engineer visits being required.”

Kodak Alaris Information Management and RSTN Consulting have jointly worked on five massive projects recently – three in Saudi Arabia involving a government entity, a University  and a healthcare provider, and two government projects in UAE.

The healthcare project in Saudi involves Aa backlog scanning of 42 million pages and is estimated to be complete within a timeframe of a year and a half.

“Our relationship with Kodak Alaris Information Management is longstanding and very close and we consider them very much part of our team. Knowing that we have the backing of the company’s market leading scanning technology and world class software, service and support, we can be more aggressive going after new business opportunities, safe in the knowledge we can truly deliver results,” said Mazen.
