More organisations choose Red Hat container-native storage

Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, has announced that a growing number of organisations around the world are turning to its container-native storage offering to support the adoption of Linux containers.

In the last year, Red Hat has surpassed 150 customers worldwide adopting container-native storage with its Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform environments. Customers are using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform for cloud-native applications, and are representative of how organisations are seeking out scalable, fully integrated, developer-friendly storage for containers.

Based on Red Hat Gluster Storage, container-native storage from Red Hat offers these organisations scalable, persistent storage for containers across hybrid clouds with increased application portability.

Tightly integrated with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, container-native storage from Red Hat can be used to persist not only application data but data for logging, metrics and the container registry.

The deep integration with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform helps developers easily provision and manage elastic storage for applications and offers a single point of support. Customers use container-native storage to persist data for a variety of applications including SQL and NoSQL databases, CI/CD tools, web serving and messaging applications.

Organisations using container-native storage from Red Hat can benefit from simplified management, rapid deployment and a single point of support. The versatility of container-native storage from Red Hat can enable customers to run cloud-native applications in containers, on bare metal, in virtualised environments or in the public cloud.

Ranga Rangachari, vice president and general manager, Storage, Red Hat, said: “The success of a company’s hybrid cloud strategy is dependent on the scale and flexibility of the underlying infrastructure used to build and deploy cloud-native applications.

“Container-native storage, deeply integrated with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, brings to bear years of Red Hat’s deep expertise building highly scalable, durable and secure distributed storage solutions. Our most innovative customers are using this powerful combination to create a foundation for the open hybrid cloud in ways that traditional storage cannot match.”
