Paratus\nAfrica and Nampower have signed an agreement to commercialise its national\noptic fibre network by launching The GridOnline. It will now provide access to its\nnational Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Paratus\nAfrica continued its investment strategy at the end of last year by being first\nto include access into The GridOnline in strategic locations in order to extend\nboth its national fibre coverage as well as implementing redundancy for its\nroutes in and across Namibia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was\ncrucial to ensure that the interconnection between the two organisations was\nfunctioning optimally before active traffic could be traversed across the\nvarious routes. Paratus already provides redundancy on its fibre network\nfrom the Namibian West Coast to Caprivi, Botswana and through South Africa into\nits international network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nconstruction phases cost millions to implement and forms part of Paratus\nAfrica\u2019s investment strategy into infrastructure across the African continent.\nIt is now able to provide active Service Level Agreement (SLA) options with\n99.8% uptime as well as 99.9% uptime dependant on customer budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
