{"id":28903,"date":"2019-09-11T14:16:36","date_gmt":"2019-09-11T13:16:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/africa\/2019\/09\/11\/minister-reveals-egypt-to-establish-seven-new-technology-parks\/"},"modified":"2019-09-18T08:16:56","modified_gmt":"2019-09-18T07:16:56","slug":"minister-reveals-egypt-to-establish-seven-new-technology-parks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/africa\/2019\/09\/11\/minister-reveals-egypt-to-establish-seven-new-technology-parks\/","title":{"rendered":"Minister reveals Egypt to establish seven new technology parks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>An Egyptian minister has revealed that seven technology\nparks will be launched at different universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amr\nTalaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), speaking\nat the Euromoney Egypt Conference 2019, said the number of\ntechnology trainees in Egypt is expected to double because of the establishment\nof seven more training institutes affiliated to MCIT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He\nadded that a project of establishing a specialised ICT university at the\nKnowledge City in the New Administrative Capital is also in the pipeline, as\nwell as a centre for applied research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister highlighted\nEgypt\u2019s keenness to co-operate with international companies specialising in AI.\nHe referred to the on-going co-operation with a Chinese company in Natural\nLanguage Processing (NLP) and mentioned Egypt\u2019s strong position in\nparticipating in Arabic language processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talaat explained that an\nimportant aspect of the country\u2019s future direction was to achieve Digital Transformation.\nHe said that by the end of 2019, the number of e-government services launched\nin Port Said city, as a pilot project, will reach 174. The services are provided\nthrough digital platforms and mobile applications and the project is due to\nexpand in other governorates later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nminister added that Egypt is eager to co-operate with African countries in ICT initiatives\nwith the most prominent being the African App Launchpad (AAL) presidential\ninitiative.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An Egyptian minister has revealed that seven technology parks will be launched at different universities.
