{"id":29497,"date":"2019-10-16T12:05:53","date_gmt":"2019-10-16T11:05:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/africa\/?p=29497"},"modified":"2019-10-18T10:29:00","modified_gmt":"2019-10-18T09:29:00","slug":"segula-technologies-opens-centre-of-excellence-in-morocco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/africa\/2019\/10\/16\/segula-technologies-opens-centre-of-excellence-in-morocco\/","title":{"rendered":"SEGULA Technologies opens centre of excellence in Morocco"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>SEGULA Technologies, the global engineering group, is increasing its\noperations in Morocco by opening a centre of excellence in Agadir mainly\ndevoted to automotive engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of this new\ncentre is to respond to the growing needs of the local automotive market and\nalso to offer a nearshore platform of excellence for all of the Group\u2019s\nactivities in order to boost its competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its recognised\nexpertise and competences across the whole automotive value chain mean the\nGroup is able to support its clients (big vehicle and components manufacturers)\nfrom design to mass production via tests and validation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A centre of excellence at the forefront of\ntechnology<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new offices of\n1,500 square metres, set on two floors, can accommodate up to 300 people and\nwill allow fully confidential collaboration with different clients as the\npremises are segmented into dedicated working zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be teams dedicated to research and innovation, a clear indication of how highly SEGULA values innovation. The new centre will have all the necessary infrastructure and competences to work on the key automotive challenges such as electric and hybrid cars, driverless vehicles and the Digital Transformation of factories, another area where SEGULA particularly stands out with its competences in augmented reality, Artificial Intelligence and additive manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objective &#8211; 300 full-time employees by the end of\n2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Agadir\u2019s automotive\ncentre of excellence is looking to employ up to 75 people by December.\nRecruitment will then actively continue as the new office is expected to employ\n300 full-time engineers and technicians by the end of 2020. Engineers in\nproduct design, mechanics, electronics, electromechanics, calculation and\nindustrialisation, as well as design and testing technicians are some of the\nmost in-demand profiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to recruit\nthe best talents, SEGULA Technologies has already signed partnerships with two\nmajor local engineering schools, l\u2019\u00c9cole Nationale des Sciences Appliqu\u00e9es\n(ENSA) and l\u2019\u00c9cole Polytechnique d\u2019Agadir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training\nopportunities provided by the Group mean its employees can benefit from\ntraining from international experts and quickly increase their competences\nthroughout their career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Strong local roots<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Morocco is a\npioneer of the automotive industry in Africa and aims to produce one million\nvehicles by 2022.
