The METISS subsea fibre optic cable\nunderscores the company\u2019s commitment to provide high-speed connectivity to\nevery African on the continent.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\nan agreement in 2018 with\na consortium of telco\u2019s including Canal+ T\u00e9l\u00e9com, CEB Fibernet, Emtel, SRR,\nTelma, Liquid Telecom South Africa has provided the landing station in KwaZulu-Natal. It will host and manage the\nsubmarine cable whilst also providing fibre backhaul to Teraco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis\npartnership with Liquid Telecom is an important step for connecting people and\neconomies of the Indian Ocean islands to South Africa which is among the major\ninternet hubs in Africa,\u201d added Xavier Hemesse, METISS Chairman. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Liquid Telecom has been\ninvesting heavily across the continent where it operates Africa\u2019s largest\nindependent fibre network, spanning almost 70,000km.
