NetLine\/Sched and ProfitLine\/Price solutions are now in use<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Lufthansa Systems has announced that the national carrier of the\nRepublic of Rwanda is now using the NetLine\/Sched and ProfitLine\/Price\nsolutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n These products will optimise RwandAir\u2019s complex flight\nscheduling and efficiently determine the best ticket prices based on the current\nmarket situation as well as supply and demand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n RwandAir and its passengers will both benefit from these\nimportant control tools, which will simplify scheduling and support the\nairline\u2019s expansion of its route network and available flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yvonne Manzi Makolo, RwandAir CEO, said: \u201cThanks to our adaption of Lufthansa Systems\u2019 scheduling and pricing solutions, our customers will be able to find fares more easily and enjoy an easy-to-understand flight schedule. Working closely with Lufthansa Systems, we have been able to optimise our ticket pricing and flight schedules to ensure RwandAir continues its ambitious growth as it enters into exciting new markets.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n NetLine\/Sched, the schedule management system from Lufthansa\nSystems, helps airlines to make quick and well-founded decisions when creating\nand optimising their flight schedules while taking operational and economic\naspects into account. This is important due to the extremely volatile\ncompetitive environment in the airline industry, which permanently affects an\nairline’s flight schedule and makes short-term modifications necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n NetLine\/Sched supports this highly complex process, and, among other things, the solution helps to evaluate different schedule scenarios from an economic perspective. Using NetLine\/Sched, airlines can take measures quickly and effectively to optimise their schedules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ProfitLine\/Price is a comprehensive pricing system which\nconsiders the current competitive situation, price trends and underlying fare\nstructures. It covers all core processes in both reactive and proactive pricing\nfor published and market fares. In addition to enabling airlines to react\nswiftly to market changes, the system provides powerful analysis tools for\ndeveloping effective pricing strategies. Its integrated pricing simulation\nmodel goes one step further by forecasting revenue changes based on fare\nmodifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe are delighted that RwandAir, an important customer in\nAfrica, is now relying on our NetLine\/Sched and ProfitLine\/Price solutions,\u201d\nsaid Marco Cesa, Vice President Regional Management EMEA at Lufthansa Systems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI am certain that both products will make a significant\ncontribution to the airline\u2019s expansion plans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Improving flight planning across South African airports<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Airports Company\nSouth Africa (ACSA), which owns and operates a network of nine airports across\nSouth Africa, has selected BECONTRA Scenario Planning, a subsidiary of\nLeidos, to help optimise its airline routes and improve flight planning across\nits network. The agreement will support route forecasting by enabling ACSA to\nassess the feasibility of new and improved routes, helping to attract more\nairlines to ACSA\u2019s airports and build the South African economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ACSA will leverage BECONTRA\u2019s Suite B Route Development module that\nis designed to support aviation business development teams to assess market\nsizes, monitor passenger flows and traffic potential. The technology delivers\nrapid, comprehensive and reliable scenarios supporting operational and\nstrategic decision-making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ACSA was formed in 1993 as a public company and was partially privatised\nin 1998. The group owns and operates nine airports, including the three main\ninternational gateways of O.R. Tambo International, Cape Town International and\nKing Shaka International Airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Matome Ramokgobedi, Group Manager, Traffic Development at Airports\nCompany South Africa said: \u201cThe\ntool will aid the traffic development function to provide robust proposals for\nnew route opportunities and thereby support the unit to achieve its organisational targets of\nimproving connectivity to the regions we serve and contribute to increasing\ntraffic through the airports we operate and serve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thorsten Kolbinger, Managing Director of BEONTRA, added: “We continue to expand our global\nfootprint of more than 40 customers with ACSA.
