Sophos and Halcyon have entered into a strategic partnership to strengthen their collective response to ransomware threats. The agreement includes real-time intelligence sharing and the implementation of mutual anti-tamper protections across their respective security platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The move brings together two cybersecurity providers with significant experience in defending against ransomware. Sophos, known for its managed detection and response (MDR) and endpoint security offerings, will work alongside Halcyon, which focuses on purpose-built anti-ransomware solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the collaboration, the companies will exchange threat data – such as indicators of compromise (IOCs), attacker behaviour, and campaign tactics – in real time. This information will be used to enhance detection capabilities across both organisations’ products, including Sophos Intercept X, XDR, MDR, and Halcyon\u2019s Anti-Ransomware Platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiative also introduces mutual anti-tamper functionality, allowing each platform to monitor and help protect the other’s software agents within customer environments. The feature is designed to prevent attackers from disabling security tools during an active breach, a common tactic in ransomware campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sophos said the partnership forms part of a broader strategy to expand the reach and responsiveness of its threat intelligence operations. The company’s cross-functional threat unit, Sophos X-Ops, will work closely with Halcyon\u2019s research and engineering teams to operationalise shared insights across their respective systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Halcyon co-founder and CEO Jon Miller said the collaboration reflects the company\u2019s focus on operational resilience and targeted defence. \u201cSophos has consistently performed well in our telemetry analysis. This partnership allows us to reinforce our protection strategy and support customers facing highly adaptive threats,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The announcement comes on the heels of Halcyon launching a community-driven Ransomware Research Center, aimed at improving transparency and collaboration across the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
