The new deduplication engine identifies identical or near-identical data blocks and stores them once, reducing disk usage significantly. Deduplication may be enabled at the storage pool level, per file system or per LUN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unity now includes enhanced scrub controls, enabling metadata-only, incremental or CLI-only options. Scrub and re-silvering settings have been refined to support better performance and predictable recovery behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Admins can now choose which authentication method, Kerberos and\/or NTLM, their SMB service uses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unity now supports customer-generated certificates for secure GUI access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new chassis supports increased capacity, dual-port SAS for high-availability scenarios and redundant hot-swappable PSUs, I\/O modules and fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
