{"id":19371,"date":"2022-09-21T12:23:38","date_gmt":"2022-09-21T11:23:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/apac\/?p=19371"},"modified":"2022-09-21T12:39:25","modified_gmt":"2022-09-21T11:39:25","slug":"new-relic-report-reveals-organizations-believe-observability-achieves-core-business-goals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/apac\/2022\/09\/21\/new-relic-report-reveals-organizations-believe-observability-achieves-core-business-goals\/","title":{"rendered":"New Relic report reveals organizations believe observability achieves core business goals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>A report from New Relic reveals\u00a0current and future trends surrounding adoption, implementation and maturity of observability approaches.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/apac\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/44\/2022\/09\/wNew-Relic-2022-Observability-Forecast-Infographic_ASEAN-254x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19378\" width=\"337\" height=\"1358\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>New Relic, an observability company, has published the <a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.proofpoint.com\/v2\/url?u=https-3A__newrelic.com_observability-2Dforecast_2022_about-2Dthis-2Dreport&amp;d=DwMFaQ&amp;c=euGZstcaTDllvimEN8b7jXrwqOf-v5A_CdpgnVfiiMM&amp;r=EfMGYBONq4GOU40r5lw3FZlyx0SWRp3WzbtC2K29pjo&amp;m=_4zwkIMJ8RMfC7Aky_UZEYoWC-f9gTkhX6Irq3a34Ks&amp;s=SanT01hOGGekJoC60NXibYWOEaUx8giQd_RFjhENzvI&amp;e=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>2022 Observability Forecast<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;report which captures insights into the current state of observability and its growth potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As IT and application environments increasingly move toward complex, cloud-based microservices, the research found technology professionals have bold plans to ramp up observability capabilities to get ahead of issues that could impact customer experience and application security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearly three-quarters of respondents surveyed in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) said C-suite executives in their organizations are advocates of observability and more than three-quarters (83%) saw observability as a key enabler for achieving core business goals, which implies that observability has become a board-level imperative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The largest study of its kind, the second annual&nbsp;report&nbsp;from New Relic and technology market research firm ETR had 1,614 respondents globally, including 65% practitioners&nbsp;\u2013day-to-day users of observability tools \u2013 and 35% IT decision-makers across 14 countries to understand their current use of observability tools and approaches, as well as their perspectives on the future of observability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report reveals the technologies they believe will drive further need for observability and the benefits of adopting an observability practice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report also highlights that respondents surveyed across ASEAN have used observability primarily to support Digital Transformation initiatives and improve the digital customer experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Across ASEAN, 43% said they apply observability to support Digital Transformation efforts to improve and gain a competitive advantage from the digital customer experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, as ASEAN organizations race to embrace technologies like Blockchain, Edge Computing and 5G to deliver optimal customer experiences, observability supports more manageable deployment to help drive innovation, uptime and reliability. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<em>2022 Observability Forecast<\/em>\u00a0found:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Only 35% had achieved full-stack observability by the report\u2019s definition (the ability to see everything in the tech stack that could affect the customer experience). Just 7% had a mature observability practice by the report\u2019s definition<\/li><li>Over a third (39%) said they still primarily detect outages manually or from complaints and most (83%) used four or more tools to monitor the health of their systems<\/li><li>Almost half (46%) said they experience high-business-impact outages once per week or more and 39% said they take more than an hour to resolve those outages<\/li><li>Respondents surveyed in ASEAN predicted their organizations will most need observability for the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and 5G in the next three years<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAsia-Pacific is home to a melting pot of different cultures and observability maturity levels.
