{"id":28639,"date":"2023-07-27T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-07-27T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/apac\/?p=28639"},"modified":"2023-08-16T14:47:26","modified_gmt":"2023-08-16T13:47:26","slug":"reliance-industries-digital-realty-and-brookfield-infrastructure-to-expand-data-center-joint-venture-in-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/apac\/2023\/07\/27\/reliance-industries-digital-realty-and-brookfield-infrastructure-to-expand-data-center-joint-venture-in-india\/","title":{"rendered":"Reliance Industries, Digital Realty and Brookfield Infrastructure to expand data center joint venture in India"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Digital Connexion project to develop critical digital infrastructure for fast growing global and local customer demand in Indian market<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Digital Realty is joining a planned three-way joint venture (JV) with Brookfield Infrastructure and Reliance Industries to develop scalable data centers for enterprises and digital services companies in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new JV will operate under the brand name Digital Connexion: A Brookfield, Jio and Digital Realty Company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It succeeds and builds on the strong foundation laid by BAM Digital Realty, by including RIL, India\u2019s largest private sector company, that has enabled and led India\u2019s Digital Transformation through Jio, as a partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each partner will own one-third of the joint venture. Digital Connexion expects to initially execute on the development of data center campuses on existing strategic land parcels it owns in Chennai and Mumbai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIndia is a mostly untapped market for the data center industry driven by the rapid adoption of digital business models, the world\u2019s largest population, and a government that recognizes the role of technology for future economic development,\u201d said Serene Nah, Managing Director and Head of Asia Pacific, Digital Realty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis joint venture brings together three global leaders in digital infrastructure to accelerate Digital India by developing, owning and operating institutional quality carrier-and cloud neutral data centers across India.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kiran Thomas, CEO, Jio Platforms, \u201cThe partnership will help us serve our enterprise and SMB clients with cutting-edge, plug-and-play solutions delivered from the cloud and lead their Digital Transformation and make them more competitive and efficient.
