Australian construction equipment and trucks distributor doubles speed and automates security with AI-driven SASE and SD-WAN technology.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macquarie Telecom has signed a deal with CJD Equipment, a leading Australian distributor of construction equipment and trucks to provide cyber security and networking services as the organisation moves to the cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 1974, CJD Equipment supplies Australia\u2019s construction and mining sectors with excavators, wheel loaders, haulers, highway trucks and more from world-leading brands including Volvo Construction Equipment, SDLG Construction Equipment, Kenworth, DAF and Isuzu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company is headquartered in Perth, employs more than 600 people and operates 23 branches and dealerships nationwide with a major focus on regional areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CJD Equipment replaced its Telstra agreement with Macquarie Telecom to uplift its cybersecurity and improve its network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As CJD expanded with new branches in Geelong and Canberra through 2023, a key priority for the company was migrating its accounting and inventory system to the cloud. Macquarie deployed its AI-powered SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) technology and SD-WAN to facilitate this transition. The move aligns with Macquarie’s expertise in providing secure Internet gateway services and cybersecurity support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis industry is going to look very different in 10 years and we\u2019ve got a partner in Macquarie that can ensure we can match up to the technological changes our customers and equipment manufacturing partners are making.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SASE technology proactively monitors and provides insights on every device and network in CJD\u2019s business and SD-WAN technology has doubled connectivity speeds at all CJD\u2019s Branches. It also has backup 4G\/5G connections in the event of a major telecom network outage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t have growth restraints, even though we\u2019re dealing with more data, more sites, more connected machines and more field services where people operating machinery all over Australia can connect to us,\u201d said Barnett.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, CJD Equipment aims to expand and supply quarry, mining, logistics and construction companies working on major mining, quarry, and infrastructure projects around the nation. Macquarie Telecom as a leading Australian hybrid cloud provider, will assist CJD with its Digital Transformation as it continues to migrate data and applications to the cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
