{"id":41251,"date":"2024-12-04T12:57:33","date_gmt":"2024-12-04T12:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/apac\/?p=41251"},"modified":"2026-07-22T17:14:33","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T16:14:33","slug":"digital-asset-adoption-in-apac-is-almost-three-times-the-global-average-consensus-report-finds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/apac\/2024\/12\/04\/digital-asset-adoption-in-apac-is-almost-three-times-the-global-average-consensus-report-finds\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital asset adoption in APAC is almost three-times the global average, Consensus report finds"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Digital asset adoption in APAC reached 22% in 2024, almost three-times the global average of 7.8%, new research from Consensus finds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the report <em>Driven By Demand: The People-Powered Crypto Movement in\u00a0Asia Pacific\u00a0<\/em>conducted ahead of Consensus&#8217; expansion to\u00a0Hong Kong, this rise is driven by an interplay of evolving regulatory environments, speculative interest, practical utility, and a deep-seated belief in digital asset&#8217;s future potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report, created in partnership with Protocol Theory, finds that&nbsp;Thailand&nbsp;has emerged as the top country in APAC for digital asset adoption at 44% followed by India&nbsp;(32%) and&nbsp;the Philippines&nbsp;(31%).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the report also observed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Of the nearly 4,300 respondents across APAC, 61% of individuals believe that digital assets will play a significant role in the future of global finance and investment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over half of those surveyed (51%) believe that digital assets will be used for everyday purposes, as well as help promote financial inclusion globally.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>37% of surveyed digital asset adopters wanted to gain financial control over personal finances without relying on banks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Michael Lau, Chairman, Consensus Hong Kong, said: \u201cWe are seeing the start of new era where APAC is leading the charge and influencing other regions to pick up the pace in building a more interconnected and seamless global economy.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;October 2024&nbsp;report is based on a quantitative research study involving nearly 4,300 individuals aged 18 and above across ten APAC markets \u2013 with about 400 respondents from each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Digital asset adoption in APAC reached 22% in 2024, almost three-times the global average of 7.8%, new research from Consensus finds.
