This will empower more organizations in Indonesia with access to cloud-based enterprise AI capabilities to drive new competitive advantages, uplift workforce productivity, and enhance public services.<br><br>In 2020, Google Cloud became the first global hyperscaler to launch a cloud region in Indonesia. In terms of wider innovation and productivity impact, over the past five years, the Jakarta cloud region has contributed Rp 900 trillion (US$55 billion) in economic value to Indonesia and supported an average of nearly 92,000 jobs per year. Over the next five years, it is expected to contribute a further Rp 1,400 trillion (US$88 billion) in economic value to Indonesia and support an average of nearly 240,000 jobs per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGoogle Cloud\u2019s Jakarta cloud region powers many essential services for Indonesian organizations, from Bio Farma\u2019s research and development of vaccines, to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education\u2019s delivery of teaching and learning experiences, to digital banking, e-commerce, food deliveries, remote work and more,\u201d said Fanly Tanto, Country Director, Indonesia, Google Cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jakarta cloud region consists of interconnected, large-capacity data centers located in-country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These data centers house the physical infrastructure that delivers Google Cloud\u2019s high-performance services to ensure organizations\u2019 systems and applications are available, secure and accessible.<br><br>By migrating their systems and applications from on-premises environments to Google Cloud, enterprises in Indonesia have optimized their annual technology spending by more than 20% on average \u2013 redeploying these cost savings toward strategic data and AI innovation initiatives.<br><br>The Jakarta cloud region serves as Indonesian organizations\u2019 gateway to Google Cloud platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGoogle Cloud is the pioneer in delivering cloud computing in Indonesia, fueling the growth of the country\u2019s digital economy for over half a decade. While other global hyperscalers are now just entering the market, we have already proven our value and are going a step further,\u201d said Tanto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUnder Google\u2019s Bangkit Bersama AI (Rise Together with AI) initiative to advance the government\u2019s Golden Indonesia 2045 vision and National Strategy for AI, we are increasing the computing capacity of our Jakarta cloud region to address surging local demand for cloud services.
