{"id":45207,"date":"2025-05-16T10:40:43","date_gmt":"2025-05-16T09:40:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/apac\/?p=45207"},"modified":"2026-07-23T10:48:35","modified_gmt":"2026-07-23T09:48:35","slug":"hewlett-packard-enterprise-to-build-south-koreas-largest-supercomputer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/apac\/2025\/05\/16\/hewlett-packard-enterprise-to-build-south-koreas-largest-supercomputer\/","title":{"rendered":"Hewlett Packard Enterprise to build South Korea\u2019s largest supercomputer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has been selected by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI), a government-funded research institute, to build a more advanced and versatile computing architecture for its sixth national supercomputer KISTI-6 &#8211; expected to become the most powerful supercomputer in South Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Featuring a 100% fanless direct liquid cooling system architecture, KISTI-6 will serve a wide range of data-intensive research projects and form the backbone of AI simulation research and development in Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joseph Yang, General manager, HPC and AI, APAC and India, HPE, said: \u201cWe are proud to support this strategic initiative to strengthen Korea\u2019s capabilities in fundamental scientific research and advanced artificial intelligence, aligned with their broader mission to support national R&amp;D advancement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KISTI President Sik Lee, said: \u201cOur goal is to cement Korea\u2019s position as a leading country for supercomputing and sovereign AI innovation,\u201d said Sik Lee, President, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information. \u201cWe want to nurture experts in data utilization, high performance computing and AI technologies to help bolster our scientific and technological competitiveness.
