Adhering to the concept that \u2018technology leaves no one behind\u2019, Huawei has long been dedicated to quantitative research into wearable devices for sport and has worked with people with disabilities and European universities to systematically explore the sporting requirements and scientifically informed exercise solutions of wheelchair users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on extensive test data and technical expertise, the team has developed core algorithms to accurately detect wheelchair pushes, measure workout calories and track workout duration. These advancements allow for precise measurement of workout intensity and outcomes. The new Wheelchair mode in the Activity Rings feature makes every push count as a trackable and manageable part of your health journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. <strong>One-tap switch to Wheelchair mode for enjoyable exercise<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With just one tap, you can switch your wearable device to Wheelchair mode, where the watch instantly activates specialised detection algorithms, transforming into a fitness coach for wheelchair users. Once activated, both the device and app interfaces adapt intelligently:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Updated Activity Rings:<\/strong> The Activity Rings, which originally track move calories, exercise duration and stand hours, have been reconfigured with new algorithms tailored to wheelchair users. The icon changes from a runner to a wheelchair user, accompanied by motivational messages to keep you engaged and ready to move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Synchronised watch faces:<\/strong> Official watch faces automatically adjust to Wheelchair mode, changing numbers and icons to reflect wheelchair-specific styles, making your exercise status clear at a glance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Focused data tracking:<\/strong> Step tracking is replaced with wheelchair-specific metrics, including a new measure for wheelchair pushes, providing a clear and detailed view of your exercise achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Activity reminders:<\/strong> Stand reminders are replaced with Activity reminders that prompt movement through suggested wheelchair rotations at appropriate intervals. This thoughtful optimisation helps you stay active and comfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. <strong>Rolling workout mode (MR3) for a greater sense of achievement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new Rolling workout type has been introduced. When enabled, the watch automatically records key data such as exercise duration, distance, number of pushes and push frequency and accurately calculates energy expenditure. This ensures that every roll is fully captured, allowing you to enjoy a greater sense of achievement from wheelchair rolling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Icon visual update:<\/strong> The interface updates key numbers and icons to those specific to wheelchair rolling, making data display more intuitive, operation more convenient and records more accurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Comprehensive fitness data adaptation:<\/strong> During exercise, the watch provides real-time statistics for push count and push frequency, helping you maintain rhythm and effectiveness. After exercise, a new push frequency curve analysis shows changes throughout the session, helping you optimise training pace and improve future workouts with data-driven insights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking ahead, Huawei will continue collaborating with wearable industry experts to conduct joint research on related algorithms, analysing trends in multi-modal parameters such as wheelchair rotation.
