Augmented World Expo (AWE), the world-leading event series for Augmented and Virtual Reality, will return to the MOC Exhibition Center in Munich on October 17/18, 2019. The event, which has now run for 10 years globally, will offer insight on the latest mixed reality trends and innovations from global technology leaders, including Google, Microsoft and Audi.
This year’s theme is Spatial Computing, a trend which leverages the power of physical space to interact with a computer – a key component of helping mixed reality to become more engaging and immersive. Spatial computing encompasses everything needed to let people move around in a digital 3D world, including the Artificial Intelligence technology trends like Machine Learning and natural language processing, as well as computer vision, AR/VR and other apps which support the creation of an interactive digital 3D world.
The event also puts the spotlight on Open AR Cloud (OARC), which was launched at AWE 2018. The association’s mission is to drive the development of open and interoperable spatial computing technology, data and standards to connect the physical and digital worlds. Offering transparency and interoperability, OARC is developing guidelines and tools to ensure all stakeholders work together to create solutions which offer benefit to all.
“We’re looking forward to AWE Europe, as this year’s show will really illustrate how the industry as a whole is continuing to mature and how the European market in particular is becoming a leader in industry adoption and creative applications,” said Ori Inbar, Co-Founder, AWE and Super Ventures. “This is an exciting time in spatial computing. The technology is finally good enough to experience the world in three dimensions through real products with real value to customers and growing revenues. Fortune 1000 companies especially are leading the way in adoption and are using spatial computing to truly transform their businesses.”
AWE is the world’s most essential AR/VR conference and expo, with annual dates in the USA, Asia, Israel and Europe, as well as meetup chapters around the world. AWE brings together a diverse mix of CEOs, CTOs, designers, developers, creative agencies, futurists, analysts, investors, founders and top press in a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn, inspire, partner and experience first-hand the most exciting industry of our time.
AWE EU 2019 will bring together more than 2,000 professionals to share ideas and experience the latest innovations unique to the European market for spatial computing. The two day event will open with a special welcome address from AWE Co-founder, Ori Inbar, followed by workshops, panel discussions and presentations covering Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR) and related emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Haptics and 5G.
The event features an extraordinary speaker line-up of more than 125 speakers, including Siemens, Google, Deutsche Telekom and Microsoft, as well as panel discussions and case studies involving some of the world’s most innovative organisations, including The Boeing Company, Coca-Cola and Audi. In addition, more than 100 exhibitors will demonstrate cutting-edge immersive technology products and solutions along with immersive-enabling technologies.
