Industry calls for standardisation of CISO role to protect businesses

Enterprise SecurityTop Stories

Professionals from the cybersecurity industry have called for clarity regarding the role of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) to ensure that organisations are able to protect themselves from cyberattacks and put in place robust cybersecurity protocols to mitigate risks.

Incidents of cyberattacks are rising and cost British business £17 billion a year. Research for Cyber Security Connect UK (CSCUK), a leading forum for cybersecurity professionals, has found that CISOs are being pulled into job requirements outside their jurisdiction and that there is a lack of transparency about the responsibilities of cybersecurity teams with UK businesses of all sizes.

The research has also found a lack of skilled, fully qualified professionals coming into the profession.

Research about the roles of CISOs will be revealed during Cyber Security Connect UK (CSCUK), a leading conference and industry forum for CISOs next month.

CSCUK takes place in Monaco from November 13 to 15 and brings together more than 300 top-level cybersecurity professionals.

It is organised by the same team that produces the market-leading Les Assises de la Sécurité conference and offers a unique opportunity for delegates who participate in an insightful programme, with expert roundtables and partner workshops.

Delegates wishing to attend Cyber Security Connect UK should register their interest by visiting:
