The European Data Centre Association (EUDCA) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to climate-neutral, grid-integrated data centres and sustainable digital growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since its establishment in 2012, the organisation\u2019s purpose has been to enable a dynamic, responsible European digital economy, through bringing the digital infrastructure community together to inform, influence and shape a sustainable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Its mission is to help build a strong European digital industry, facilitating the procurement of resources necessary for a competitive digital economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a Co-founder of the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact, EUDCA and its members have been actively working towards the elimination of operational emissions and the continuous improvement of energy and resource efficiency across the sector. The industry has committed to making data centres climate neutral by 2030 through ambitious action on energy efficiency, renewable energy sourcing, water conservation, circular economy practices and the reuse of waste heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over recent years, EUDCA has worked closely with the European Commission and other stakeholders to advance two complementary objectives: climate-neutral data centres and the sustainable expansion of Europe’s digital infrastructure to support digitalisation, AI and competitiveness. EUDCA has consistently maintained that these goals are mutually reinforcing and must be achieved through the efficient integration of data centres into the wider energy system. These positions have been publicly articulated in EUDCA’s statements, consultations and technical engagement with European institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
EUDCA, European Commission, Commissioner Dan J\u00f8rgensen and partners from across the energy sector, signed a Declaration of Intent to advance the sustainable integration of data centres into the European energy system. The declaration reinforced the need for reliable, decarbonised electricity systems, closer cooperation between data centres, grid operators and public authorities and a predictable, investment-friendly framework that supports both sustainability and competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
