Dassault Syst\u00e8mes has taken another step towards AI-driven industrial engineering by expanding its AI-native 3DEXPERIENCE platform with intelligent Virtual Companions that work alongside engineers, scientists and programme managers. The new capabilities are designed to automate complex workflows while keeping human expertise at the centre of product development and innovation.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artificial intelligence is rapidly moving beyond simple task automation into a new era where digital assistants can actively collaborate with human experts. Dassault Syst\u00e8mes believes this shift will redefine industrial design, engineering and manufacturing, announcing a significant expansion of its AI-native 3DEXPERIENCE platform with three specialised Virtual Companions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company’s new digital assistants – AURA, LEO and MARIE – are designed to work as intelligent collaborators rather than conventional chatbots. Each has been developed to support specific industrial disciplines while drawing on extensive scientific knowledge and industry expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The launch represents another milestone in Dassault Syst\u00e8mes’ long-term vision of creating Virtual Twin Factories, where humans, AI and virtual models operate together to accelerate innovation, improve productivity and reduce the complexity of industrial projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike general-purpose AI assistants, the Virtual Companions are built around structured engineering knowledge and mission-critical industrial processes. They are intended to understand user intent, reason within an engineering context and execute meaningful work rather than simply retrieve information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, the three companions introduce 19 specialist competencies covering programme management, engineering, simulation and bioscience. These capabilities allow them to guide users through complex workflows, identify insights that might otherwise remain hidden and recommend new approaches to product development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The technology is designed to support every stage of an industrial lifecycle, spanning business planning, product design, engineering, simulation, manufacturing and operational management. By combining AI reasoning with trusted industrial data, Dassault Syst\u00e8mes aims to help organisations make faster, better-informed decisions while reducing development times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The approach reflects the growing importance of agentic AI, where software is increasingly capable of planning, reasoning and completing sophisticated tasks with limited human intervention. The company also emphasises secure deployment. The Virtual Companions operate on AI factories provided by OUTSCALE, Dassault Syst\u00e8mes’ global cloud and AI operator, with infrastructure deployed across three continents. The sovereign cloud environment is designed to give organisations access to industrial-scale AI while protecting sensitive data and intellectual property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dassault Syst\u00e8mes Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Pascal Daloz believes the technology represents the next evolution of virtual engineering environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As Virtual Twins are mission-critical and well-accepted in all industries, we are revealing the future of our Virtual Twin Factories,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that Virtual Twin Factories will combine Virtual Companions working alongside people, highly automated Generative Experiences and Virtual Twin as a Service to create comprehensive digital environments for industrial innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
