It is focused on accelerating companies and financial institutions across the world to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.

The initiative is a collaboration between the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and one of the We Mean Business Coalition commitments. It defines and promotes best practice in emissions reductions and net-zero targets in line with climate science.

It provides technical assistance and expert resources to companies who set science-based targets and brings together a team of experts to provide companies with independent assessment and validation of targets.

Axis’ commitment to developing science-based emissions reduction targets reflects the organisation’s ongoing initiatives to reduce its environmental impact.
