{"id":85002,"date":"2023-02-14T13:17:18","date_gmt":"2023-02-14T13:17:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/eu\/2023\/02\/14\/virtual-reality-app-helps-nursing-staff-consider-a-career-in-adult-prisons\/"},"modified":"2023-02-27T10:43:01","modified_gmt":"2023-02-27T10:43:01","slug":"virtual-reality-app-helps-nursing-staff-consider-a-career-in-adult-prisons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/eu\/2023\/02\/14\/virtual-reality-app-helps-nursing-staff-consider-a-career-in-adult-prisons\/","title":{"rendered":"Virtual Reality app helps nursing staff consider a career in adult prisons&nbsp;&nbsp;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nurses who are considering a career working in adult prisons can now experience what their roles might be like thanks to a new immersive Virtual Reality app.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The app provides an overview of working in a prison healthcare setting, including the benefits and challenges, through a series of interviews with a mental health nurse, healthcare officer and GP.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also featured in the app are five real-life scenarios based on interactions between patients and practitioners and invites learners to choose the most appropriate action related to issues around the prescription of medication and referrals to the hospital.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>E-learning sessions mapped to the five scenarios have also been created to give users a rounded experience of what working in a prison healthcare setting is like.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The app has been developed in partnership with Health Education England\u2019s national nursing and midwifery directorate and NHS England\u2019s National Health and Justice team.
