Logicalis and IBM accelerate 5G deployment for Latin American companies

Both companies will help internet service providers enable 5G network automation, orchestration and management.

The partnership between IBM and Logicalis will enable Internet and communications service providers to adopt a hybrid cloud approach, providing clients with access to IBM AI-powered automation and network software solutions.

It aims to facilitate automation, orchestration and network performance to drive growth and improve efficiency and customer experience.

Nowadays, 91% of high-performance communications service providers (CSPs) expect to overcome their financial expectations in five years by using 5G-enabled Edge Computing.

IBM is helping telecommunications companies to move forward with their Digital Transformation processes and find new ways to monetize their 5G networks offering more value and connection services to their customers.

To help achieve that growth and meet the needs of their customers, CSPs must leverage a hybrid cloud approach to support the volume and range of data-driven operations their networks can perform.

Joaquim Campos, VP of Cloud and Data Platform, IBM Latin America, said: “The evolution of 5G is designed to offer higher data speeds, latency improvements and a functional redesign of mobile networks to allow greater agility, efficiency and openness.

“This collaboration will allow us to help customers harness the potential of 5G and Edge Computing, which are rapidly redefining the way companies create connected services to improve their operations and business offerings.

“IBM is building relationships with industry-leading partners across its ecosystem and our long-standing relationship with Logicalis leverages the strengths of both to solve the most complex challenges in business and society for our customers with hybrid cloud and AI.”

Logicalis will integrate the solutions as part of its multi-vendor offering to service providers throughout Latin America. The modular framework created by Logicalis considers the different demands, architectures and stages of each company in the 5G adoption process.

Rodrigo Parreira, CEO, Logicalis Latin America, said: “As a solution provider focused on the Digital Transformation of our clients, we have recognized the opportunity to support them through this new opportunity, ensuring scalability, security and flexibility. Modern networks based on 5G technologies will be the lifeblood of all digital business.”

IBM has addressed 5G network orchestration by implementing IBM Cloud Pak for Network Automation, designed to continuously learn, provide insights and use financial impact analysis to prioritize and manage problem-solving and network performance.

Furthermore, with IBM Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps, organizations can have a holistic view of the entire IT environment, with insights and alerts to resolve IT incidents and service outages faster and even get ahead of potential problems.

Additionally, IBM SevOne Network Performance Management helps provide businesses with a comprehensive view of network performance and how it affects business applications.
