Furukawa solutions support communication services in the new resort of Grupo Tauá

With a modern and attractive design, Tauá hotels in Alexânia, Goiás, Brazil, facilitates faster connections for tourists.

With a wide, modern and diversified services infrastructure, the new Tauá Resort & Convention Alexânia has invested in state-of-the-art technology to offer quality communications to its customers and events held in its convention center.

To meet this requirement, it chose the Furukawa Laserway solution, which allows the implementation of corporate networks based entirely on fiber optics.

Located in the city of Alexânia, Goiás, Brazil, 50 minutes from Brasília, the resort has 424 rooms, a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, a sports bar, restaurants, a game room, sports courts and several other leisure options.

Its convention center includes a hall for 2,000 people and 14 complimentary rooms, all with a dedicated Internet network and flexibility to adapt to different events.

Renato Braga, CIO, Grupo Tauá, said: “It is an innovative, modern, technological project, aligned with a concern for service quality and environmental sustainability.”

The CIO explains that this led to the choice of optical network infrastructure capable of providing the speed and performance required by the services offered by the resort.

“Part of the network, for example, is dedicated exclusively to the transmission of streaming channels,” explained Braga.

Implemented by Primedata, the Furukawa solution provider responsible for the project, the Laserway solution also supports all voice and data services at Tauá Resort & Convention Alexânia, including CCTV cameras and the Wi-Fi network covering almost all areas of the company.

With the conclusion of the second phase of the project, the resort now has about 2,200 network points based on the Laserway solution.

In addition, Grupo Tauá adopted another innovative solution from Furukawa: Cables and accessories of the GigaLan Green line, which connected optical network terminals (ONTs) and access points in rooms and other places in the resort.

The green line of Furukawa was developed focusing on sustainability and consists of products coated with green polyethylene based on ethanol extracted from sugar cane, these are 100% recyclable with low smoke emission (LSZH) in case of fire.

Besides contributing to the preservation of the environment, the green line is suitable for places with a high circulation of people.
