{"id":10811,"date":"2023-12-12T11:27:50","date_gmt":"2023-12-12T11:27:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/latam\/?p=10811"},"modified":"2023-12-12T11:27:52","modified_gmt":"2023-12-12T11:27:52","slug":"latam-gets-guide-for-ai-and-cybersecurity-legislation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/latam\/2023\/12\/12\/latam-gets-guide-for-ai-and-cybersecurity-legislation\/","title":{"rendered":"LATAM gets guide for AI and cybersecurity legislation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Fortinet is the lead sponsor of the book <em>Generative Technologies and Cyberspace in the Legislative Agenda<\/em> \u2013 a guide for LATAM legislative institutions in initiatives that seek to regulate the use of Artificial Intelligence and citizen cybersecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The book is presented by the Legislative Institutions Support Section of the Secretariat for the Strengthening of Democracy of the Organization of American States (OAS), the MaDrid Capital Fintech Cluster (MAD Fintech), the Center for Studies, Research and Parliamentary Foresight of the School of Government of the Universidad Austral and Bussola Tech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The publication was launched at the <em>Anticipating the Future<\/em> event held by the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Including in the book are articles of analysis and opinion by legislators, academics, representatives of international organizations, experts in emerging technologies, cybersecurity, digital law, communication and political science, on the issues that will set the trend in the legislative agenda for 2024, such as representing the interests of citizens in cyberspace, legislating the digital ecosystem and overseeing the public policies inherent to the technological development in the Americas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marc Asturias, Vice President of Marketing and Government at Fortinet for Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada, said: &#8220;Our goal through collaborations like this is for both the public and private sectors to be aware of the risks associated with the digitalization in which we are immersed and to be able to take advantage of its benefits to achieve greater access to technology &#8211; while keeping citizens safe in a constantly evolving technological context.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fortinet is the lead sponsor of the book Generative Technologies and Cyberspace in the Legislative Agenda \u2013 a guide for LATAM legislative institutions in initiatives that seek to regulate the use of Artificial Intelligence and citizen cybersecurity.
