{"id":16406,"date":"2025-02-14T10:11:17","date_gmt":"2025-02-14T10:11:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/latam\/?p=16406"},"modified":"2025-02-14T10:11:18","modified_gmt":"2025-02-14T10:11:18","slug":"mexico-plans-to-invest-heavily-in-workforce-safety-and-protection-technology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/latam\/2025\/02\/14\/mexico-plans-to-invest-heavily-in-workforce-safety-and-protection-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"Mexico plans to invest heavily in workforce safety and protection technology"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Samsara report says71% of industry leaders in Mexico plan to invest a moderate to significant amount in safety and security technologies for the workforce in the next five years.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leaders of organizations focused on physical operations around the world reveal that placing technology at the center of their business strategy is transforming the workplace to meet the demands of a new generation of workers, while creating safer and more efficient organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0This is according to the new\u00a0State of Connected Operations Report <em>Building for the Next Generation: Labor Trends in Physical Operations\u00a0<\/em>published by Samsara, which includes information from 1,550 physical operations leaders in seven countries &#8211; including 150 in Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s no secret that the job market can be challenging in industries like transportation, construction and field services. However, we are seeing how technology makes a big difference in the perception that younger talent has about their professional opportunities,&#8221; said Brendali L\u00f3pez, Marketing Director of Samsara in Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our research shows that technology is not only making these industries more attractive, but it is also contributing to long-term talent retention. The return on investment is significant and there is still a lot of potential to be explored &#8211; as many companies are just beginning their digital transformation.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Need for greater investments in safety and security<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than two-thirds (68%) of leaders in Mexico and 71% globally report that they frequently hear feedback from workers about the need for greater investments in safety or security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, &#8220;improved emergency response protocols&#8221; is the number one request leaders hear from workers regarding safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But only 30% of Mexican organizations are currently using remote\/automatic vehicle immobilization and only 36% use panic or emergency buttons for drivers to get immediate assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mexican leaders are fully aware of these challenges and are committed to addressing them, with 71% planning to make moderate or significant investments in technologies to improve workforce safety and security in the next five years, compared to the global average of 68%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of the world&#8217;s industry leaders prioritize IoT-enabled security devices, automation that reduces worker exposure to risk and predictive security analytics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Modern technology tools are a must-have for the workforce<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearly three-quarters (74%) of leaders in Mexico and 85% globally agree that modern technological tools have made their industries more attractive to younger workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many leaders around the world also report improved employee morale and productivity, as well as lower turnover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leaders ranked cameras as the top technology for improving recruitment and retention, as they recognize their value in protecting workers from incidents beyond their responsibility and false claims. This reflects younger workers&#8217; emphasis on workplace protection and their comfort with safety-enhancing technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Technology investments drive financial returns and unlock new efficiencies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mexican leaders say their technology strategies are generating significant financial benefits, with nearly one-third (31%) indicating that their investments in security-focused technology have saved their organization more than $20m Mexican pesos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nearly all (99%) respondents in Mexico confirmed that technology has empowered the workforce to shift their focus to higher-value tasks, including preventative maintenance, safety checks and valuable opportunities to improve their capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research also revealed widespread adoption of online learning platforms, with 80% of Mexican organizations already using these tools as part of their training programs.
