\u201cThis tour has been running for 17 years, including this year\u2019s edition, and has taken place in different cities across the country. It\u2019s a valuable opportunity for us; it allows us to meet most of our clients in person, listen to them and understand firsthand their needs and concerns regarding the growth, efficiency and digitalization of their businesses,\u201d said Miguel Vargas, Sales and Services Manager for the Enterprise Market at Entel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The strategic meeting began with a presentation by renowned journalist and panelist Mat\u00edas del R\u00edo, followed by a keynote from former Chilean Minister of Economy, Mining and Energy, Jos\u00e9 de Gregorio, who addressed trends, the future and the current political and economic landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the topics de Gregorio addressed was the specific economic situation of the Biob\u00edo region, where he analyzed the potential of flagship projects such as the rare earth project, highlighting its environmental and technological advantages compared to similar initiatives elsewhere. De Gregorio emphasized the need to focus on growth and economic activity to drive regional development, noting, \u201cWhen an economy doesn\u2019t grow sufficiently, it limits itself to distributing existing resources instead of generating new wealth that benefits all stakeholders.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Along these lines, the economist underscored the importance of simplifying processes and supporting initiatives that foster economic progress, highlighting that Chile is resilient but faces significant challenges in achieving sustained growth that can create more opportunities for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vargas said: \u201cThe most important thing for the Biob\u00edo region, especially in the SME world, is how companies develop technologically and address Digital Transformation. Centralization generally harms regions greatly because they lack the ability to develop new forms of employment, new forms of communication and how companies are able to compete efficiently and productively against centralization.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another key issue for driving technological and economic development in the region is connectivity infrastructure. Regarding this point, Entel\u2019s Market and Corporate Products Manager, Alfonso Fern\u00e1ndez, addressed the specific challenges facing Biob\u00edo due to its geography and industrial distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In response, he stated, \u201cWe recognize that, while Concepci\u00f3n has good connectivity, much of the Biob\u00edo region faces significant challenges in this area. Therefore, through our partnership with Starlink, we offer satellite solutions that provide stable connectivity for businesses in remote areas.
