Eletronet has secured the leading position among operators for download traffic volume at IX.br S\u00e3o Paulo, according to public data released by IX.br for June 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The achievement highlights the company’s nationwide network, extensive interconnection capabilities and growing contribution to Brazil’s Digital Transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eletronet’s Point of Interconnection (PIX), hosted in its data centre, supports more than 60 telecommunications operators. The infrastructure enables organisations across Brazil to connect directly with IX.br S\u00e3o Paulo, recognised as the world’s largest Internet Exchange Point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Operated by the Information and Coordination Center of Ponto BR (NIC.br), IX.br spans 39 metropolitan areas across Brazil, bringing together around 3,800 Autonomous Systems and approximately 7,000 interconnections. During June 2026, IX.br S\u00e3o Paulo reached traffic peaks of 35Tbps, contributing to a national record of 55Tbps across the IX.br network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By enabling direct traffic exchange between networks, IX.br improves routing efficiency, reduces latency and delivers faster, more reliable access to cloud platforms, streaming services, videoconferencing and other high-performance digital applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eletronet enables customers outside Brazil’s main connectivity centres to access IX.br S\u00e3o Paulo through its nationwide fibre infrastructure, helping regional Internet service providers, telecommunications operators, OTT providers and enterprises improve service quality without investing in their own long-distance connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This performance reflects the combination of three important factors: the capillarity of our network present in different regions of the country, our solid customer base and the company’s ability to transport large volumes of data with efficiency and predictability,” said Emerson Hioki, Chief Technology Officer, Eletronet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Hioki, wider access to IX.br S\u00e3o Paulo enables customers to optimise routing, reduce latency and enhance the end-user experience as demand grows for cloud, streaming, Artificial Intelligence and other digital services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Milton Kaoru Kashiwakura, Director, Special Projects & Development, NIC.br, said Eletronet’s long-distance connectivity has played an important role in expanding the reach of IX.br throughout Brazil, demonstrating that nationwide interconnection creates a competitive advantage for telecommunications operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eletronet is continuing to expand its infrastructure and expects to reach 26,000 kilometres of fibre routes, operations in 23 Brazilian states and 255 Edge Data Centers by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
