A high-speed highway based on high-capacity fiber will connect the metropolitan areas in Colombia, Chile and Peru.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

InterNexa, a leading telecommunications and IT company, will begin the implementation of Redes Metro, a new metropolitan network project for the cities of Bogot\u00e1 and Medell\u00edn in Colombia, Lima in Peru and Santiago in Chile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this project, the company foresees investments close to US$20 million. The figure considers its deployment and subsequent development since the networks will be equipped with high-capacity fibers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jaime Alberto Pel\u00e1ez, General Manager and CEO, InterNexa, said: \u201cThe purpose is to build the highway and use it as we obtain our clients and give them the specialized solution they require, as we have always been doing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company expects that the complete deployment of 1,300km of fiber optics will take between one and two years. The project will be done in sections as it progresses through each city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redes Metro will be initially implemented in commercial and industrial areas, free zones and shopping centers, among others, in Bogot\u00e1, Medell\u00edn, Lima and Santiago because they are cities in which InterNexa has a robust presence and some metropolitan ring roads go through the industrial and commercial areas of each of these cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, in Peru 70% of the business sector is in the city of Lima and that is why there is a focus on developing these networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An innovative network<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of the project aims to serve the 5G market that is emerging in the cellular and mobile telephony sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe aim is to reach the corporate market with its network, ensuring the quality of service from beginning to end, avoiding the risks of the quality of a third party’s network and achieving a better and more efficient management of costs, which results in a better negotiation rate with the client,\u201d said Pel\u00e1ez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redes Metro is designed to be integrated into a group of complementary services in which, in principle, premium connectivity is provided throughout Latin America, so that the headquarters of the companies are connected through their network with their headquarters, branches and places of interest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
