{"id":8374,"date":"2023-05-22T15:28:12","date_gmt":"2023-05-22T14:28:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/latam\/?p=8374"},"modified":"2023-06-21T02:15:10","modified_gmt":"2023-06-21T01:15:10","slug":"cirion-prepares-to-establish-three-additional-data-centers-in-latin-america","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intelligentcio.com\/latam\/2023\/05\/22\/cirion-prepares-to-establish-three-additional-data-centers-in-latin-america\/","title":{"rendered":"Cirion prepares to establish three additional data centers in Latin America"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>A Stonepeak-owned company has announced its plans to expand its data center capacity by 6MW across Chile, Brazil and Peru.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cirion, a Latin American digital infrastructure firm, intends to establish three new data centers in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company unveiled its intentions to construct a data center in the Quilicura region of Santiago, Chile, another in the Macropolis industrial district of Lurin, Lima, Peru and a new facility in Cotia, S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil. In total, these three sites will offer a combined capacity exceeding 6MW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In August of last year, the company initially revealed its acquisition of a 25,000 sqm (269,100 sq ft) space in Santiago for the purpose of developing a second data center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe believe in the development of the economies of the region, supporting digital business models,\u201d said Facundo Castro, CEO of Cirion Technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs Latin America\u2019s leading digital infrastructure and technology provider, we are dedicated to providing our customers with the highest quality services and technologies and these expansions reflect Cirion\u00b4s continued commitment to providing our customers with the most comprehensive suite of solutions to support their Digital Transformation across the region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During 2022, Cirion reported a growth of approximately 12% in the installed capacity of its data center facilities located in S\u00e3o Paulo (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Quito (Ecuador), Cali (Colombia) and Lima (Peru).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, Cirion has announced its intention to augment its submarine cable capacity by 23Tbps, resulting in a total subsea capacity of 132Tbps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cirion was established last year when Stonepeak acquired Lumen Technologies&#8217; Latin American operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company currently operates over 17 data centers across Latin America, including locations in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia and Chile.
