Gemalto cloud security integrates with Microsoft

Gemalto, a digital provider of digital security, has announced its cloud authentication server is compliant with Microsoft’s single-sign on access feature. Gemalto’s Protiva IDConfirm platform integrates with Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), enabling strong authentication to web-based enterprise applications with a unique user digital identity.

“With an immediate need to migrate to cloud applications, organiations and their employees are looking for authentication services that are frictionless and easy to manage ,” said François Lasnier, senior vice president of Identity and Access at Gemalto. “ As an early adopter of the latest release of Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services 1 , Gemalto’s integration expands the benefits of cutting edge authentication to our current and broadening customer base .”

Employees can save time by securely logging-on to multiple cloud applications in office or on the go via their mobile device. In addition, enterprises can reduce IT costs and simplify implementation with their legacy infrastructure. IT professionals can control and federate authentication to all business applications through a single identity provider for more efficient cloud security. Gemalto’s mobile security expertise with an additional one-time password solution provides an extra layer of authentication to the typical username and password logon credentials.

“At Microsoft our strategy for growth is aligned to a mobile-first, cloud first vision,” said Garth Fort, General Manager of Enterprise Partners, Microsoft. “Security is a big factor in how comfortable customers are in moving and building their business in the cloud. Gemalto is as focused on security as we are and offers their customers longstanding proficiency in multi-factor authentication and mobile technology.”
