Silver Peak kicks off 2015 road show

Silver Peak kicks off 2015 road show

Silver Peak, the provider of software-defined WANs (SD-WAN), commenced the UAE leg of its 2015 road show on March 23rd in Dubai. Highly-placed experts from the firm dissected network performance myths and presented solutions to accelerate data to new, optimised speeds, including Unity, Silver Peak’s latest revolutionary intelligent WAN fabric that unifies the enterprise network with the public cloud.

With the global WAN optimisation market expected to grow to $12.1 billion in 2019, at an estimated compound annual growth rate of 18.8%, as per a report issued by research firm MarketsandMarkets, the growing popularity of WAN optimisation has never been more apparent, especially in the Middle East and Africa, which has been dubbed the second-fastest growing market in the world. Incidentally, this road show also comes on the heels of Silver Peak being named a leader in research firm Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for WAN Optimisation in 2015.

“WAN optimisation is shaping up to be one of the hottest areas of the network equipment market, and we’ve seen strong growth in the Middle East. This road show marks a unique opportunity for the region’s solution seekers, industry watchers and followers to get up to date with the latest trends and network technology, and it is also a chance to become familiar with the range of solutions offered by Silver Peak, which can capably accelerate data to unprecedented, unrivalled speeds,” said Bhaskar Peruri, regional sales manager for the Middle East at Silver Peak.

“This is also a chance to hear about how Silver Peak customers saw immediate benefits in the ROI of replication acceleration software from being able to move more data in less time, and a chance to meet Silver Peak executives and partners,” added Peruri.

But the main focus of the event was Unity; unlike traditional WAN optimisation solutions, Unity correlates information about cloud services and Internet ‘weather’ to intelligently route traffic over a secure, optimal path. By keeping SaaS and IaaS traffic on the Unity fabric, IT gains an ability it’s never had: the ability to monitor and control connectivity to the cloud while ensuring consistent SaaS performance.

Silver Peak’s solution Unity fills quite the gap in the region’s market: according to Gartner, Middle East and North Africa region’s (MENA) public cloud services market has grown 23% in 2014 to total $629 million, up from $511 million in 2013.

Commenting on the increased adoption of Silver Peak’s solutions in the region, Abdul Rahaman, regional sales director for Middle East and Africa at Gulf IT Network, Silver Peak’s distributors in the UAE, said: “Silver Peak’s solutions portfolio has consistently met the varied needs of different clients in different industry sectors. The technology is efficient and cost effective when compared to local competitors. This road show is a good opportunity to interact first-hand with industry leaders, to understand the future of the WAN optimisation market and upcoming technologies.”

The Silver Peak 2015 road show will carry on to Abu Dhabi on March 24th, and then on to Bahrain on March 26th.
