Siemon data centre partner for Avaya’s Technology Forum

Siemon, a global network infrastructure specialist, has announced its participation in the fourth Avaya Technology (ATF) 2015, due to be held in Dubai from 30 March to 1 April.  Global Alliance Partner, Siemon, is the chosen data centre solutions provider at the Avaya event, which promises in-depth technical sessions, expert workshops and live demonstrations for IT leaders.

Speaking at ATF will be Siemon’s MEA Technical Manager, Narender Vasandani, who will be discussing data centre evolution and the current options available for both copper and fibre infrastructure.  Focusing on the impact that infrastructure architecture choices can make on lifetime performance, Vasandani will provide design advice on maximising density whilst considering the complete data centre ecosystem.

In Avaya’s live demonstration area, Siemon will be displaying two of its market-leading VersaPOD cabinets.   This modular and scalable system offers exceptional density for space maximisation and the cabinets will be bayed together and equipped to demonstrate a space saving ‘zero-U’ vertical patching and cable management channel.

Showcasing efficient use of space, the cabinets will be equipped with a selection of patch panels, including 6U vertical panels, vertical TERA-MAX rack mount interconnect panels and end-of-row panels, which mount between VersaPOD’s corner posts and side panels, each allowing up to two standard 1U patch panels, fibre enclosures or other equipment, such as intelligent PDUs, to be mounted vertically.

Siemon’s fibre optic solutions will also be demonstrated, including its ultra-high-density plug and play system, Lightstack, which has the capacity to house 144 LC fibres or 864 MTP fibres in a single rack unit.  The high density 1U fibre connect panel system will be shown, as will Siemon’s ‘RIC’ (rack mount interconnect centre), along with various SC/LC/MTP adapter plates. For complete visibility and control of the entire physical layer network, MapIT G2 will be deployed as part of this comprehensive intelligent infrastructure simulation.

Explaining the event, Marketing Director, Dina El Banna comments, “ATF is focused on one over-riding goal: to help IT leaders to make the most informed decisions possible about migrating, designing and implementing the right customer engagement, unified communications and engagement, networking, services, and architecture for the enterprise”.  She went on to invite visitors to “Discover comprehensive roadmaps for the latest products, technologies and applications that are, or soon to be, in the market, and to participate in technically-rich forward planning sessions that comprise the foundation for enterprise communications and fabric-based networks.”

The audience for ATF is described as ‘network and infrastructure technology leaders, architects, engineers, and managers seeking to learn about and experience cutting-edge networking technologies and innovations by engaging with eminent industry engineers and architects on the latest developments in Fabrics, SDN, Big Data and beyond’.  On the guest list are 250 Avaya customers and 100 partners from the Middle East, Africa and India, plus visitors from China and Russia.  Senior IT professionals are being invited from the UAE government sector, hospitality, banks, healthcare, education and others sectors, plus complementary partners such as Axis, Pelco, Pacific Controls, Oracle, EMC, Riverbed, and Semantic.

The Avaya Technology Forum is being held on 30 March until 1 April at Atlantis, The Palm Hotel, Dubai.
