Kalaam Telecom joins Etisalat’s SmartHub to expand its ME connectivity

Etisalat has announced its partnership with Kalaam Telecom to establish point of presence (PoP) at Etisalat’s SmartHub in UAE.

The announcement was made during a special signing ceremony at International Telecoms Week (ITW) held in Chicago recently.

As part of the Etisalat SmartHub, Kalaam Telecom will support its interconnections, capacity and expand its reach into the Middle East and Europe. The agreement will enable the company to offer more options for its enterprise and corporate customers to choose from for their international connectivity.

Ali Amiri, Executive Vice President, Etisalat Carrier and Wholesale Services said, “We are delighted to have Kalaam Telecom join Etisalat’s SmartHub as a member of our growing SmartHub community. Our SmartHub is now a leading regional telecommunications service hub, providing regional connectivity and advanced services to our partners. The continuous flow of partnerships with SmartHub signify Etisalat’s position as a central hub of regional connectivity in the telecom market.”

Veer Passi, Chief Executive Officer – Kalaam Telecom Bahrain said, “The strategic partnership enables Kalaam in providing capacity offerings to carriers and ISP’s thus extending their network to even more strategic locations.”

Joining Smarthub’s ecosystem will also strengthen our global connectivity solutions for enterprise customers by providing them a redundant architecture over various cable systems. This new co-location includes a core network node that provides improved Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Ethernet and SDH services carrying traffic from existing carriers at SmartHub to Bahrain and the rest of GCC and Middle East through its wide network of NNIs and own PoPs,” Passi added.
