SAP SE has announced new products and partnerships to enable Middle East and North Africa enterprises to become more intelligent, with expanded capabilities from advanced technologies such as conversational artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain and analytics.

At the company’s recent annual SAPPHIRE NOW conference, SAP fulfilled its ambition to disrupt the marketplace for customer relationship management (CRM) with the formal introduction of a new suite of applications, SAP C/4HANA, to help businesses serve and retain customers.

SAP also announced the SAP HANA Data Management Suite, the industry’s first comprehensive data management solution that enables companies to turn data sprawl into business value.

“The legacy CRM systems are all about sales; SAP C/4HANA is all about the consumer,” said Bill McDermott, CEO, SAP.

“We recognise that every part of a business needs to be focused on a single view of the consumer. When you connect all SAP applications together in an intelligent cloud suite, the demand chain directly fuels the behaviours of the supply chain.”

SAP announced that nine out of 10 business leaders believe AI is critical for their companies’ survival over the next five years, according to a survey of 2,500 C-level executives.

  • Six out of 10 business leaders polled have implemented or are planning to implement AI in the next year
  • A third of business leaders polled are planning to make serious investments (between US $500,000 and US $5 million) in AI in the next 12 months

Intelligent new products and services

To expand and accelerate global adoption and best practices of blockchain in the transportation industry, SAP has started a global blockchain consortium with seven founding members, including Intel Corp., Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. (HPE) and Aby Airbus SE.

To help customers easily embed advanced technologies into their solutions, SAP released SAP Leonardo-based innovation kits for specific industries, including retail, life sciences, manufacturing and automotive. SAP launched the SAP Leonardo Partner Medallion Initiative for partners to embed industry solutions.

SAP continues to expand and enhance its multicloud strategy with the general availability of SAP Cloud Platform on all major hyperscale cloud infrastructure providers: Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services.

New partnerships to drive intelligent enterprises

During SAPPHIRE NOW, SAP announced plans to collaborate with Accenture, Capgemini, and Deloitte to accelerate customer adoption of SAP S/4HANA Cloud in the process manufacturing, discrete manufacturing and service industries. ANSYS and SAP announced their first solution under a new partnership.
